Tashkent, Uzbekistan 27/04/2019

Assalamualaikum. Salam Ramadhan semua.

Macam dah lama tak update blog, since summer trip tahun lepas. So tahun ni kami membuka tirai 2019 dengan spring trip ke Central Asia. Angan-angan nak tengok bunga tapi sisa winter masih ada. Cuaca di negara-negara Central Asia time ni agak sejuk, kami bernasib baik sebab tak hujan.

Travelmates kali ni tak ramai, just my parents, my siblings and my daughters. Encik suami taknak join sebab katanya Central Asia tak developed. Ternyata encik suami salah! Hahahha… Kami enjoy sangat! Tak puas laaaa travel ke Central Asia.

KLIA 26/4/2019:

Central Asia terdiri daripada 5 negara Stans. Trip kami ni hanya cover 3 Stans sahaja iaitu Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan dan Kazakhstan. Kami decide trip ni 2 bulan sebelum tarikh departure. Alhamdulillah, all went well.

90% of the citizens are Muslims and tak perlu risau nak cari makan… semua restaurant kat sini halal.

Flight depart fom KLIA pada jam 3.30 pm, setelah delay hampir satu jam. In flight meal sedap juga, portion juga banyak. FA pon cantik-cantik… betul kata orang, wajah orang-orang Uzbekistan ni cantik-cantik. Mata sepet, hidung mancung. Pipi kemerah-merahan…

Keesokan paginya, kami breakfast kat guesthouse, meal prepared by owner, nama dia Anwar.

Kat Tashkent, kami jalan sendiri, naik public transport sendiri. Tak perlu tour guide sebab system Metro mereka sangat mudah difahami. I dah study sesiap, 2 bulan sebelum trip ni. Tapi not a big problem pun, guna bahasa isyarat je.

Kassa means ticket.

Print map metro sesiap:

Chorsu is a word from the Persian language, yg bermaksud "crossroads". This is the traditional bazaar which located in the center of the old town of Tashkent. Under its blue-colored domed building and the adjacent areas, all daily necessities are sold here. Chorsu Bazaar should be a daily run for vegetarians looking for variety of fruits. In season, pomegranates, persimmons, apricots, grapes, strawberries and different types of melons can be found in the bazaar. The price? Alahaiii murahnyaaaa.. hehehhe..

Murahhhh!

Ice cream ni  murah je. Bawah seringgit.

I'm in love with this bazaar!

Antara roti yang famous kat sini...

Penat round, singgah jap kedai makan. Kat sini famous lamb dengan daging lembu. Ayam tak famous sangat. Kami order lamb kebab.

Kukeldash Madrasah is one of the largest madrasah that preserved in Central Asia. It was built of baked bricks, a large courtyard class rooms and a mosque. Pernah terjadi gempa bumi di Tashkent, this madrasah was damaged by the earthquake in 1868 and subsequently reconstructed in 1902-1903. It was reconstructed again in the 1950s and became one of only several religious buildings which survived the 1966 Tashkent earthquake.

Independence Square/ Mustaqillik Maydoni, Memorial Square and Alisher Navoi were the 3 famous attractions here in the heart of Tashkent. Here, citizens will hosts celebrations and military parades in the days of special events and also public holidays. This area surrounded by administrative buildings, the recreation area with green zones and fountains, monuments including the Arch of Independence and the Independence Monument. Bila jejak kaki sini, teringat trip Moscow 2017. Structure bangunan hampir sama dengan Russia. Ini adalah kerana New Soviet men and women yang membina semula Tashkent selepas 1966 earthquake are remembered in stone at the Earthquake Memorial. Moscow later announced it would give 20% of the newly built apartments to these soviets (mainly Russian) volunteers and invite them to stay.

Kemudian kami ke Alisher Navoi area. Kat sini happening sangat. Dekat je, boleh jalan kaki. Kebetulan hari tu ada marching...

Kami visit Amir Temur Statue. Kat sini boleh nampak the famous Uzbekistan Hotel.

Next destination is Tashkent Tower. The Tashkent Tower is a unique structure. It is 375m high. It combines traditional Uzbek and contemporary architecture. The tower accommodates the equipment for radio, television and other types of communication. This is the 11th tallest tower in the world… not bad for central asia. Construction started in 1978 and it began operation 6 years later, on 1985. It was the 3rd tallest tower in the world from 1985 to 1991.

Since semua dah lapar, kami singgah restaurant berdekatan for early dinner. Kat sini pula susah nak baca menu sebab takde English menu. Tapi still tak faham. At last, dia guna online google translator hahhahah!!!

Settle round Tashkent city dalam masa sehari. Actually, banyak lagi tempat menarik yang kami tak cover, tapi tak cukup masa dan semua pon agak penat.  One thing I noticed about Tashkent… everywhere we go, semua tempat sangat bersih! Susah nak jumpa sampah. Tong sampah pon takde.

As aside, I sangat impressed dengan metro station mereka. Today the Tashkent metro has 29 stations. Each station has its own unique architectural features such as marble, granite, glass, art ceramics, carved alabaster and other decorations. Surprisingly, lighting is also interesting and amazing! Actually, snapping pictures inside of the station is forbidden. Luckily, Uzbekistan continues to implement political and economic reforms, and in late 2018, the restrictions were lifted and photographers were allowed. One of the most beautiful Soviet metro systems ever constructed… and I am really amazed!

Malam tu tidur awal sebab esok kene kejar flight ke Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan pula. I am definitely will revisit Uzbekistan! Nak cover area Samarkand pula, In Shaa Allah one day.

Good night beautiful Tashkent!
